Programs
The Cape Ann Business Incubator was formed to provide resources to
help individuals develop their small business ideas and operations by
providing a variety of support mechanisms. CABI provides a professional
working environment where small businesses can receive education,
technical assistance, office space, shared business services, access to
financing and other professional services.
CABI helps existing and budding entrepreneurs through 5 service lines:
- A Resource Center where clients can access information and
direction about a full range of business related issues and topics as
well as a work area where clients can use general office services on a
drop in/sign up basis, including: conference room facilities, a
monitored telecommunications system, computer labs, and Internet
access. Our staff helps clients access equipment, materials, how-to
manuals, a library and a webliography.
- Seminars and presentations on rotating business topics which
include practical, hands-on follow up sessions where the participant
works with CABI staff to implement plans and generate action.
- Individually assigned Mentors/Coaches guide each client through the
process and peer work groups provide an extra spark of encouragement,
giving clients feedback on their business operations.
- Connections to other business groups and agencies at all levels of
community and government help clients to guide their business
direction.
- A business incubator, where businesses share office space and
business services such as a receptionist, bookkeeper, business
equipment, a networked computer system with high-speed Internet access,
administrative services, and direct on-call consulting assistance.
Through these services, CABI will realize its main goals of graduating
successful, stable, financially viable businesses from the program. These
freestanding businesses will help stimulate Cape Ann’s economy when they
leave the incubator and will create jobs and tax revenues for the
community. |
